Application or Nomination for 2024 Functional Director Position
If you have interest in supporting the north central Florida LGBTQIA+ community by serving a one-year appointment as a functional director with Ocala Pride, please submit your application below.
If you know someone who may be a stellar candidate for a functional director position and supports the LGBTQIA+ community, please submit a nomination for that person so that we may contact them to solicit their formal application.
Directors must commit to a monthly board meeting as well as other meetings / virtual calls / communications as required to fulfill the duties of the position as outlined in the position descriptions below.

Functional Director Position Descriptions
Director of Fundraising: Supporting the President, the Director of Fundraising helps implement effective fundraising strategies, builds relationships with donors, sponsors and funders, organizes fundraising events/campaigns, and writes/submits grant applications. Working with the Director of Community Outreach, develops effective community support programs.
Director of Marketing & Communications: Supporting the President, the Director of Marketing & Communications reviews current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies. They are responsible for creating graphics/flyers, ensuring the website is up-to-date, and generating traffic. They will produce and deliver a monthly membership newsletter and lead an effective social media strategy.
Director of Events: Supporting the Vice President, the Director of Events oversees the planning and execution of events for the organization. The Director of Events will plan and coordinate accommodations, venues, staffing, catering, and equipment needed for sound or video. They will also be responsible for working with various vendors as required as part of the planning and execution of the events.
Director of Community Outreach: Supporting the Vice President, the Director of Community Outreach is responsible for strengthening community relations by working with local charities, organizations and businesses. Working with the Director of Fundraising, develops effective community support programs. They will also work with other non-profit organizations to help build our network and resources for supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
Director of Security: Supporting the Vice President, the Director of Security coordinates effective safety training for the organization and its members, and helps develop policies to assure the safety of property, assets, and people. They will also help ensure that we have sufficient security at events held by the organization.
Director of Finance: Supporting the Treasurer, the Director of Finance helps with finance reporting, creating and managing budgets, and expense reconciliation. They ensure that the financial statements are up-to-date and accurate to be presented to the members at open board meetings.
Director of Operations: Supporting the Secretary, the Director of Operations helps ensure all documentation is appropriately filed, records are kept organized, and meetings and locations are reserved. They will also be responsible for membership management.
